Tennis Star Files Slip And Fall Suit

CBS News - October 21, 2015

Tennis star Eugenie Bouchard has filed a lawsuit against the United States Tennis Association following a slip and fall incident in the locker room during the U.S. Open. The fall left Bouchard with a concussion and serious head injury and forced her to withdraw from the U.S. Open as well as other tennis tournaments in Japan and China.

Bouchard had just finished a doubles match when she returned to the locker room at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens. Almost immediately after arriving she slipped on a foreign substance on the floor of the physiotherapy room.

Bouchard’s suit accuses the USTA of negligence. She is seeking compensation for her injuries that, aside from causing physical harm, have caused her world ranking to drop over 13 spots.
