In Atlanta, the family of an unarmed, naked man, Anthony Hill, who was fatally shot and killed by police officers, has filed a federal wrongful death suit. The lawsuit also names the Dekalb County Police Department, the officer involved in the shooting as well as the county and board of commissioners.

The police officer on the scene, Robert Olson, shot Anthony Hill on March 9th. He was responding to call about a man behaving erratically outside of a suburban Atlanta apartment complex. Anthony Hill was both naked and unarmed at the time of the shooting.

Hill’s mother, Carolyn Giummo, says that she hopes that the outcome of the case will force a change in the way Atlanta police are trained to handle similar situations in the future.
