Jamie Simmons is suing coffee maker manufacturer, Krups USA, claiming that a defective coffee maker lead to her being severely scalded by a hot water spray while using the machine.

Simmons was attempting to fix a Krups K1010 Home Café Single Serving Coffee Machine when she was sprayed with scalding hot water. As a result, she suffered massive second-degree burns to her upper body and both of her breasts. 

Simmons is pursuing a personal injury and product liability case against Krups USA Inc. She is seeking more than $50,000 dollars in compensation for her injuries, medical costs and whatever else the court may deem appropriate.
